I have chosen some favourite photos from the last couple of years for the header images used in my blog, each one is special to me:
Volendam, Netherlands – taken in June 2015. I’d spent a glorious sunny day exploring two small towns located along an Amsterdam bus route. The first part of the day involved discovering picturesque Edam, and ended here at at the wonderful seaside town of Volendam, walking along the front, absorbing the unique atmosphere.
The Caribbean Sea, off Antigua – taken in October 2014. Melanie and I had joined cousins of mine on a fantastic holiday at the resort of Blue Waters, in Antigua. The experience included this perfect day cruising the waters around the island on a privately chartered catamaran.
Castello Gabiano, Italy – taken in April 2016. The Castello is located a mere 5 minute drive from our wonderful house in the small village of Gabiano. We have visited it on a number of occasions to enjoy the stunning walks that the grounds offer, and sample the delicious wines produced in its cellars. This visit was particularly special as we were joined by my sons, and future daughter-in-law, and time spent with them is very precious.
Peyia, Cyprus – taken in December 2015. A simply wonderful winter sunset viewed from our balcony. The balcony offers the most spectacular sunsets, which are a highlight of every visit we make to the island that has become very special to us.
Doha, Qatar – taken in January 2015. At the time whilst working in Doha, I was staying at the Marriott Hotel, which is situated on the water front and has its own private beach. Weekends gave the opportunity to enjoy this facility, and whilst temperatures in January were lower than the Qatari Summer peaks, they were still much higher than those being experienced back in the UK. I took this photo laying on a sun-bed, staring at the clear blue sky, thinking how lucky I was!
